In November 2004, traveled to the Ukraine, former Soviet Republic, promoting the Freedom of Press in the midst of the highly contentious presidential election between Viktor Yanukovich (Russian Principalist) and opposition Viktor Yuschenko (European Union member)

Mr. James F. Normandin, 46, joined Woodward Communications Inc. in February 2004 as Publisher of the Telegraph Herald. Mr. Normandin possesses a substantial background in the publishing field where he has excelled for the previous 21 years as an Executive for the Gannett Company; Journal Register Company, New Haven, Connecticut; Pulitzer Publishing Company, St. Louis, Missouri; Brown Publishing Company, Cincinnati, Ohio; and now Woodward Communications, Inc. Dubuque, Iowa. Mr. Normandin has served on numerous industry related, educational, private and public foundations and boards during his career. He is a native of Leominster Massachusetts, and was the recipient of a Baseball and Football scholarship to University of Connecticut. His educational background includes undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Connecticut, and he is a graduate of SPPI in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mr. Normandin and his wife, Jody, reside in Dubuque, Iowa.

Carol Townsend

Carol Townsend is the former owner and President of Sedona Staffing Services. She and her husband had grown the business to 13 offices in 3 states and sold the business last year.
Carol is a former Board Chair of the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce. Other Boards she has served on include: Hospice of Dubuque, Historical Society, and Women in Management. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and a member of the Tri-State Human Resource Association. Carol was recognized by National Personnel Associates for her national training of professional recruiters in the art of behavioral-based interviewing. She was awarded the Tri-State Human Resource “Professional of the Year” in 2002 and was this year’s recipient of the “Women of Achievement Award for Service and Support of Community.”
Although officially retired, Carol is involved in the Dubuque Area Chapter of SCORE, a group that helps mentor people who want to grow or start their own business. Carol is particularly interested in mentoring minority and women-owned businesses. Her personal mission statement is, “To Help Others Succeed.”
Carol is Co-Chair of this year’s United Way Campaign and especially enjoys seeing companies involve their employees in giving back to the community.
