Hillcrest Family Services provides health and education programs for residents of Dubuque and the rest of Iowa from birth to 100.
Birth: Adoption, Hillcrest-Mercy Maternal Health center (maternal health care for women with no access to insurance), WIC (Women, Infants and Children)
Youth: adolescent pregnancy prevention, adolescent foster-care group-homes, Big Brothers Big Sisters, emergency Youth Shelter (serving youth in crisis situations), K-12 special education school
Adult: anti-tobacco program, professional health clinic, Hillcrest Mental Health center, homeless outreach (PATH), Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation (IPR, assisting adults with serious mental illness), job training, residential homes, supported living for psychiatrically disabled, transitional housing program (temporary supported housing program for families), unplanned pregnancy counseling , wellness center (peer-driven, support-based services in recovery from mental illness).

Opening Doors offers hospitality and opportunity to women alone or with children, who are in need of emergency or transitional housing and related support services. Transitional housing for up to two years is offered at Maria House and emergency housing for up to 30 days is offered at Teresa Shelter. Through its programs, women will develop the skills and self-esteem they need to make it on their own and break the cycle of homelessness.

SASC provides assessment and counseling services for individuals and families experiencing alcohol and drug problems; evaluations and classes for those arrested for DWI; and counseling on issues related to problem gambling. Its High-risk Youth Program provides on-site counseling services for adolescents in many of the high schools and junior high schools in Dubuque and Delaware counties.
